Ozone New Zealand heads to Kitesurf Tonga
At Ozone New Zealand we're lucky enough to have the Pacific islands as our neighbours, and with some of the best wind out there it was only natural for us to find ourselves an epic kitesurfing spot and get there STAT, along with a bunch of kiting legends of course.
With our first trip to Kitesurf Tonga already been and gone, one of the crew, Bibiana, thought she'd share some of her highlights with us...
Where to begin... Well with this was my first trip to Tonga and I was super excited to be spending it on a kitesurfing holiday with Ozone, and wow was I blown away! We literally had wind all week, which was great freestyle wind with it being upwards of 25-30kts...
We had been delivered to the Pacific post office so we had to 'send it'.
We were lucky with our group of 10 kiters, there was such a warm and encouraging atmosphere the whole week, and we were all pushing and encouraging each other to get out there and make the most of the windy paradise. Only a short stroll up to the end of the point there was a stunning blue-clear water lagoon which we affectionally dubbed the swimming pool, and you glide over beautiful coral reef (that does have a habit of leaping out and scratching you)...
Karen and Glen of Kitesurf Tonga have definitely created something very special. The Fales are amazing and their whole eco lifestyle at Kitesurf Tonga is so inspiring. The food and meals are thought out and presented with great care, and you can tell there's been a lot of effort gone into to making their place really magical for Kiters and guests. The best part was having 3 very gorgeous, cute and cuddly kite cheerleaders Jenga, Tinkerbell and Bear! These doggies make your stay even more special. Kitesurf Tonga is a place you dream of as a Kiter and then it becomes real!
I can't recommend it enough, you will absolutely enjoy it, I just want to go back! and I think I just will have to!
